The man from Greenland

20 year old man
The 20 year old man from Greenland
This may be a birthday present to me but it's better than no present at all. It's an old-timey portrait of your truly.I thought just because I can alter an all ready old picture of abe doesn't mean I can't create something of my own that looks old and alter that.So I present to you "the 20 year old man from Greenland".

I love your birthday present to yourself. You are such a very sophisticated good-looking young man. You look like you could be president or at least prime minister of Greenland. Are you? You never known, maybe there was an election since the last time we talked and you got in. HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!! You are very loved!!! Mon 14-Jun-2004 23:36

Abe Lincoln and Icct Hedral

Abe Lincoln
The other day I bought "...I care because you do.",an aphex twin album (I now own 7 in total!)
It's one of his best albums a lot more cohesive and it's ambient but almost dancable.Anyways it has piece on it (i feel free calling it a piece because I believe this is his most artistic album besides SAW II) called "Icct Hedral" which instantly became one of my faveorite aphex twin songs. It's what I would call a "Space Opera" it's just very space like and will likely inspire me whenever I draw images of "_____" the space alien/human that has appeared a few times in my art. It's orchestral and it swells and whistles and sounds more open than almost any song from here to track 8 disc 2 on "SAW II".Anyways I went to bed the night I bought the cd and skipped to Icct Hedral fully excpecting to enjoying roaming around a foreign planet in my imagination,I was shocked and appalled when an image of Abraham Licoln popped into my head,it was an image of abe looking behind him in an almost impossible turn of his head and his neck had a weird elongated look to it,and to me it was an image of him just before he was shot but he was staring right at me.so it of course creeped me out and i stopped listening to the song.It still remains a great song despite the creepy image I relate it to.anyways I have tried to replicate this image as best I could using an actual photo of lincoln the image has been manipulated in multiple ways, his head has beed flipped and rotated and his to neck has been added about five inches.it turned out almost perfect, not quite of course.listen to the song while viewing the image and you'll almost have the same excperience I had.

manufactured self-portrait

Manufactured
This took me longer to create than mabye it needed to.I'm please with it though. Why wouldn't I be?Look how great I look!Mom's worried that I put too much pride in my abilities to make "dark" images so this was created as a little diversion.A little light and cheesy.

Midnight post

The Fish
Hello sleepy world.I've stayed up extra late to put up a new picture so as not to have to smush it with my preceeding post."The fish" started as a "twisted picture" (does anybody even remember what those were?check out my ancient posts if you're curious)and it has retained some of it's crappy quality that is prevalent in that set. It's another image i suppose of "_____" from the "terah" picture a few posts back. This time, however I've super-imposed my own face, shirt and feet onto him making it more of a self-portrait.and people can't seem to figure out what is in his hand (?) someone said they thought it was a turnip, and somone else said they thought his hand was swollen.I've always had pride in my ability to draw a decent heart but it looks like a flunked out here. The figures on the right are dead,i think.much like the "just like that" twisted picture of long ago post.

A bit of trivia for you that will give you more insight into the picture. The picture is named "The Fish" not after the big fish on the left in the background, but is actually named "The Fish" for the central, main character.

I love, love, love so much your pictures. Is so dark and so sweet.
Tanks.

Our Abandoned World

Hangar Exterior
Cupoard
Office Hallway
View all 12 photos...
Our family friend Paul,Jesse and I,all went exploring a few abandoned places for the last hours before sunset.Paul has explored most of the abandoned Farmyards around here so he took Jesse and I to two of his faveorite ones.On the way we stopped at Black's farm once again, where I took a few more photos, one is a portrait of the elaborate pulley system located in the loft of the barn and I also got a few shots of Jesse and Paul in the loft from down below.

We visited Virdens old abandoned airplane Hanger afterwards. That is a wonderful place. The interior of the hanger is beautiful.Very large and open.(the ceiling leaves much to be desired as there were still snow drifts here and there under the large gaping holes. There were many more rooms in the building than I had excpected.Bathrooms and office rooms were complety destroyed by "Grad '99",We found a few untouched toilets,a total miracle.porcelain must be a blast to destroy,or something.Graffitti was extremly prevalent and apperently 666=devil! The office hallway had graffitti on the left wall,i photoshopped it out.If the y can destory the wall I can destroy th epicture.Who would have thunk it?I did come across a treasure in the hangar. It's an old "workers compensation of Manitoba" poster. It says "So great a loss, and so little needed to prevent that loss".it features a hand holding a walking cane and a big pair of eye protective goggles in front of it.An extremly "Brazil"-type poster. It is ripped and tattered but still legible.I want more of these types of posters.

After our visit to the Hanger we visited a nearby farmyard that is in much better shape than the blacks farm. And we came to the conclusion that the owner must have died because there is far to much stuff still hangin around,Coats toothpaste, closets full of clothes,a barrel with a dead fish or rat floating inside etc.etc.unfortunatly by this time the memory stick on the camcorder was almost full so there isn't that many photos to show.

The wicked masses.

Hand after Art
He paused for a Moment before the Arrival of the Wicked Masses
"You can try to use the password reminder if you seem to forgot these details."I made a typo in my password and this is what came up.can you spot the bad grammer?

I'm so pleased.I've been having major bouts of inspiration lately.I've been creating so much new art.

The image titled "He paused for a Moment before the arrival of the Wicked Masses" is an image that appeared right when I closed my eyes one night in bed. When I saw this image I instantly held onto it in my mind but because I was in bed I was too lazy to get out and sketch it out.so I took a mental picture and sometime the next day I remembered.
It was greener in colour and instead of the furnace on the left it just dissapeared into blackness, but the end result turned out quite a bit the way I'd seen it.It's an image of a glowing human in an old industrial facility,he's in a sort of cowering posture and a large evil crowd is about to come down a ramp towards him. It was amazingly detailed the way I saw but I can't quite get the detail in with the mediums I used (pencil, pencil crayons and dry pastels) so I tried my best, and I'm quite pleased with it.

The other picture here is an image of my hand after rubbing pastels.sort of a stupid picture.

Full moon

Moonlight sea of clouds
My bedroom door.
here is an image of the full moon from outside my skylight last night, the clouds were thin and caught a lot of light. It wasn't 10 minutes after I took this picture that big lunkning clouds came and covered up the sky.

Also an image of my door,if you can't make out all the tiny images.tough! aslo,if you look just above my face in the center of the door you can see my first drawing of "_____" (see previous foto entry)

i simply adore the moonlight.... its so nice... wad a great view... i'm also an art-lover... i sketch in my free time too... but i never published my work... hehe... but its a great job dude... keep it up... nice artwork... Sat 8-May-2004 08:24

another crappy graphite to pixel transfer.

Why did the Terah stay on this side of the river?
Landscape with Knife. And some very hidden images of me.
Here's an image from inside me.If you laugh at it,I'll take that as a personal attack.Just kidding go ahead and think what you will of it.I'm kidding about the my taking offense bit,but not about this being a very personal picture and story (read it on my blog at www.thehitcher.blogspot.com).
the character "_____" is from another image I drew once upon a last year.the rest of the drawing was drawn with old classic religous paintings in mind.

I've recently come across a painter whom I find very inspiring for when I'm going for a more depressing look and feel. His paintings are overly grotesque so I'm not going to mention his name, for fear of everyone thinking I'm some sort of freak.I'll give you two hints, his initials are F.B. and he loved butcher shops (he was quoted saying "well,we're all made of meat,we are potential carcasses" his paintings seem to be about guilt.you feel sick when you look at his paintings kind of like you're a vouyer to the images. My faveorite f his paintings is a "triptych" which is a painting made up of three seperate panels.the right panel even features what looks like someones shadow in the bottom corner making you feel even more guilt for the poor soul in the picture.
I find it hard not to shudder at his paintings so he gets extra points.

A Spring Breeze

Untitled
Kid for Today
Hey,I have more pictures of the abandoned farmyard.some really good ones will appear eventually, but for today.I want to display some of my art.I will post one of my newest digital images. It may be evident that everything but the background was created with mspaint. But Its not a shaded piece with fancy realism so I thought I could get away with it.I credit a childrens book called "Our animal friends at night-time" for the mood. There is one sillohetted image in that book of silohetted children playing in the sunset and it inspired me for the tone of this picture. And I also credit Boards of Canada, yet again, for the title."Kid for today" is a very beutiful piece of music from a BoC CD I just bought called "in a beautiful place out in the country".It's a mini-album so it was only 8 dollars, but I'd say it's easily on par with both of the full-length albums.each song is absolutly gorgeous.anyways I was listening to it when I came up with the specifics of this picture and I think the title fits the picture wonderfully. For best results, listen to the song while viewing the image,it's like a multimedia sensual overload!

the second image is a digital still of two of my newer drawings.untitled i guess. One is an image of a guy with his tongue hanging out his mouth and the other is a pair of wild-eyes.I think they are the eyes of the "logan rock witch".the first drawing is funny to me because he started out with an unclothed, bare chest.but I decided to lighten the mood of it by adding a shirt.and then i delved itno the absurd by putting him in a preppy-type striped shirt and put a necklace around his neck.so it's reall supposed to be sort of funny and disturbing.
