We have today,an update consisting solely of non-photoshopped digital images. These were taken at the "Black's Farm".A beautiful old abandoned farmyard on the #1 highway.I've passed this a lot but never noticed the house in the upper part of the yard.when I did I decided I must go check it out.
Here are the pictures of what I found.By the way the title of this post is a line from the Tricky CD "angels with dirty faces".listen to " money greedy", "broken homes" or "singin' the blues".yeah, that last one. It's a bit tricky (pun definatly intended)to listen to the first time.she seems to be singing in a different key than the music.after a few listens you'll find it hard not to sing along.I do, anyways.

Two more commercials

Beanimate
PAY ATTENTION!!!
The Floating House.
I have created two more advertisments into this post. One is some sort of strange recruitment propaganda poster the other is for a new brand of coffee bean. The text for the "PAY ATTENTION!" poster is purposefully bizarrely written with akward redundancies and lack of information the second is mostly straight forward aside from one pathetic line.
I also have here a photo of a house. It's a little blurry and I worked it over a lot more than you might think.

*Disturbing image warning*

The Dandilion Eater
Blazer
Odd self-portrait
View all 4 photos...
I recently decided to draw out a quick picture, with a bit of a "druggy" look to it.And I decided to use gaudy colours because I hardly ever do.So I created this image of a woman about to stuff a dandilion into her mouth, while there is a drugged up donkey staring her in the eye.I also have three more self-portraits to share with you. Each progressivly more alarming than the one before. The first is basically for my sister (that's you ang) so she could check me out in my brand new-to-me Blazer,I'm sorry you can't see the liner,it's really neat and 70's looking but I hesitate to post a picture of the blazer just lying there, open. Not enough subject matter, sorry. You'll have to come back home to see it!
Following this image are two creepy pictures of myself. The first is made up of composite images of me looking in various directions, giving it a sort of "where is he looking?" kind of abstraction. And lets just say the second is a little And in case you're wondering,it makes my stomach turn to look at it.

creep out, man that last one really has something nasty going on in it. Are you really beat up or is it all effects? Aslo thank you for that one of you in the blazer. The blazer itself is cool but the picture of you is even more so. You remind me more and more of an eccentric artist, Something I would imagen to see in a magazine article of some abstract artist in his own world. Tue 30-Mar-2004 01:17

Thanks ang,no I'm not beat up.If I look like that when I get beat up,im'a stay far away from any confrontations. Tue 30-Mar-2004 04:35

Should I always have something interesting to say?

Gabrielles poster
The screamer
The Ecstasy Floor
View all 6 photos...
I fem more pictures.A few more inspirations.Logan Rock Witch is the name of a really hammy Aphex Twin song,It's the type of image that comes to mind when I hear the song."the ironing Board" was supposed to be called "manniquen and iron" but i'm not sure how to spell manniquen and I don't really care."The Ecstasy Floor" is,whatever."the screamer" took me less time than most of these and it's my faveorite, don't know what that means, actually i do,but i choose to pretend not to.Last but certainly not least,is the first image,Gabrielles poster, the Lady of Shalotte.doesn't really have much in commen with the poem.except tat she does look like she under a curse of some sort, and you can pretend the veil in the background is her web.....if you want.......I personally just consider "another one of my posters" with the colours turned down a bit.doesn't mean I don't like it,it's just not very thought-provoking.People say "whats she afraid of?" and I say, apperantly nothing, because shes basically the only objec tin the entirety of the picture.anyways view it,love it.

more self-portraits

Spoon Me
Rigid Marshmallow
ceci n'Luciole de Caleb
So in this corner we have a few more self portraits.and another advertisment, this time for a sore throat remedy."ceci n'Luciole de Caleb" Is a composite image, oviouvlsy.I originally wanted it to look like a natural image of my sitting near a funny little tree but trying to fuse two images together realistically is not something I have learned yet,it'll take some more practice. But the image turned out far more interesting I think as a portrait of a humanoid green alien sitting under a fleuoresant (I meant to spell it like that.....yeah) sprout-like tree.I also have a spoon-portraits of myself.

I'm actually writting this to ask what happend to one of your pictures the super creepy red faced man. unless I am blind and not seeing. there is one there but that is not the one I am thinking. On another note I do totaly love your addvertisments. Sun 22-Feb-2004 05:56

Self-portrait among other things.........

Self-portrait
A & B
The Beach at Redpoint
View all 5 photos...
Okay,so I draw a self-portrait of myself once every two years,I have progressed with my skills every time (I believe) despite the fact that I no longer take private art lessons.I'm still learning.I had drawn the picture for the most part and then I decided to shade it,make it look more lifelike.I had already taken the mirror away so I got carried away and I starts giving my face some definition that isn't there,I realised later that I cannot take the mirror away until I have put the picture on the wall,so I had to erase some of the lines that made my face lok thinner, sadly it's still mostly chubby.

I have here three images of the same object from different angles.I think what the object is,is a little too obvious but I liked these images they have sort of that 2001/solaris type space-age simplicity, escpescially "the white corner" I'm happiest with that one.

I have below what would appear to be yet another picture of myself, but it isn't.It is a digital photo, but who the mysterious shadowy figure is,is not something for anyone to know.He looks a lot like me though.
This picture "The beach at redpoint" was inspired by "Boards of Canada",a scottish duo, whose music I am a huge fan of.They lived in calgary for 9 months as children and while living there became huge fans of "the national film board of canada" documentaries so they named themselves after the film board. They are hugely inspired by them so a lot of their music has a nostaligic feel, that has a lot of natural sounds and grainy textures.I highly suggest buying "geogaddi" or "music has the right to children".They are both wonderful albums.Anyways "The Beach at Redpoint" is the title of one of their songs and I thought it fit the picture really well.I added the "noise" into the picture to give it that grainy quality.

You are right the quality of your drawings improve almost daily. I see that one and know it is you, not only the you that others see when their eyes first land on you but the you that has transpired though your 19 years. The you that I only can know cause I lived with you for so long. All I can say is wow. Mon 26-Jan-2004 05:12

The Ready-to-wear Rogue

The Ready-to-wear Rogue
The Bloody princess.ick.
Just like that
He's a classy dude. He's got no one, but the look on his face suggest he needs no one.His ace has some obvious anime influence even though I was not trying for it.Come to think of it his entire image is a bit japanese. The elongated body with it's drastic pose and his visible hand was, before, a lot bigger (which I liked better) but I had to shrink it because how could his other hand get in his pocket?
I think this picture turned out real well and I'm extremly pleased with it.
It is obvious which part of the picture I worked on most (the character or the background) but I think the background is befitting for him.It has harsh angles and a certain melencholy air about it.

It was, belive it or not, inspired by the same thing as "the ghost chaser".It's this image I have in my head and every time I try to put it onto the computer I end up drawing a completly different picture.oh well,I'll post the actual image I've been thinking of as soon as I can get it out of my head without changing it into a completly different thing.

I've also posted another twisted picture and a really icky image that isn't terribly great.

The Ghost Chaser

The Ghost Chaser
Guju Dreams
I'm updating with another picture that I have put in my "twisted pictures" catagory. It has some of the "scratchy" "raw" look that my other "twisted pictures" have along with a theme thats a little creepy.
This picture I think,is very fun.I think the main charatcer has some ectoplasma around him just like the ghosts.but he's not quite gone or something, whatever, not too much to say about this picture, philosophically speaking. The ghosts themselves are about the creepiest thing I've ever done on the computer, thankfully most people will hardly be able to make them out.....

I am also posting an image I created with MSpaint called "Guju Dreams".The title has some significance to me it's shares it's name with a notepad file I frequently update that is an ongoing adventure that may someday become a book. The picture and the story have nothing in commen besides their names.

The Pale man.
The Pale man who walks outside the shops
has a home, he has a car.
he's not scary and he's not insane
he's just the pale man from down the street
I bumped into him the other day.
he said sorry and I said it was alright

He was carrying groceries.
Eggs.Butter.Milk.Flour.
I asked him what he was making
He said he'd run out of the stuff, that's all.not making anything.

His hands were shaking and I told him he looked cold
he replied, saying he was fine and was wearing a sweater.
I asked him why his hands shook.
He grabbed my hand and drew a pen from his pocket.
He wrote on my palm......
"_______ the _______"
He told me he wasn't bored and he wouldn't kill himself
because nobody else does......

I can't say anything profound, but I think you have, and I enjoyed seeing and reading it, so please draw and write more. Just don't stop, I mean. What you write and what you draw, I wanna see and read. Did anyone ever tell you that you have a lot of your Greatgrandpa Wiebe in you? That's good. Tue 25-Nov-2003 07:33
